This is a a kind of Chate Melon. It is sometimes called the muskmelon. The muskmelon is also known as the cantaloupe (the muskmelon's scientific name is cucumis melo). The melon in this picture really has no English name (it's scientific name being cucumis melo, variety makuwa) and it's Korean name, Chameo (참 외). Muskmelons or cantaloupes have the distinctive rough net-textured skin. You can read more about muskmelons and cantaloupes at plant answers. There are many mistaken translations from Korean into English, and you can read about some of them at Korean Food Translated.
I like that fruit
Wow.I never seen or heard of that kind of fruit.I wouln't mind trying it.
It has a very unique taste. The texture of the inner fruit is a bit like a pear, i would say. So it is juicy as all melons are, but a little harder than most melons. The taste is sweet and also quite close to the taste of a pear.
